The Northeast of Alentejo is one of the richest and most biologically diversified areas in the country. Located between the Tejo and Guadiana rivers, in the interior of the Alto Alentejo, and the country, this region presents itself as one of the least developed of the continental territory.

Its richness in natural, cultural and gastronomic patrimony represents a unique potential region, region or tourism of nature and gastronomy. They are implemented on a national and international level and contribute greatly to or reconfiguration of the region.

This territory, constituted by plains, hills and valleys integrates the municipalities of Marvão, Portalegre, Castelo de Vide, Nisa, Monforte, Elvas, Campo Maior, Arronches e Crato.

During the year 2013, in a joint effort with the Ader-Al – Association for the Development of Rural Areas of Alto Alentejo, and through the PACA project, funded by Proder – EU, Terrius developed and organized a series of workshops with some of the most respected chefs of the present day, of which we highlight António Nobre, Henrique Mouro, Leonel Pereira and Renato Cunha as tutors of each one of the events.

This cycle of workshops allowed us to present the diversity and richness of the products of the Northeast Alentejo in the main gastronomic plazas of the country, of which we highlight the TerriuS Products that include the Marão DOP Chestnut and the Maçã de Portalegre IGP variety Bravo Esmolfe, the Borrego do Nordeste Alentejano IGP, Portalegre IGP Sausages, Carnalentejana PDO and Nisa IGP Cheese, whose presentation dossier can be consulted here.

From the success of this cycle of events, a book was released with more than 30 original recipes from more than 20 renowned kitchen professionals who knew how to take advantage of the unique characteristics of these products of recognized quality.
